Description:
In response to poorly resourced Catholic schools asking for help with mental health difficulties, the Catholic Institute of Education (CIE) began a mental health pilot project in 2023 with 60 teachers from 20 schools. In partnership with, and with the support of, the Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative(REPSSI), the CIE continued the project into 2024. In 2025 the CIE has continued with the project and has introduced a new component: trauma-informed practices for poorly resourced Catholic Schools. 20 Schools will be included in the project and the Catholic Institute of Education itself, will go through the training to become a trauma-informed organisation.
